Barbara had no children and began experiencing memory changes that slowly made daily life more difficult to manage safely on her own. Tasks that once seemed simple, paying bills, keeping groceries stocked, organizing paperwork, and remembering appointments, became increasingly overwhelming.
As her confusion progressed, she became vulnerable to financial exploitation and struggled to safely manage important daily responsibilities. Utilities were occasionally shut off, not because of lack of funds, but because bills had been forgotten or misplaced.
Barbara still deeply valued her independence and wanted to continue enjoying familiar routines such as getting her hair and nails done, shopping, and remaining in the comfort of her own home.
What Barbara needed most was trustworthy oversight, organization support, transportation assistance, companionship, and someone willing to notice the small details that greatly affect safety and quality of life. To help her remain as independent as possible, we created a simple medication reminder and organization system that helped her know whether medications had been taken and provided greater structure to her daily routine. We helped organize her bills, set her utility bills up on auto pay, assist with grocery shopping and errands, check-in visits, and keep a family member in the loop.
